A surge has hit a significant oil pipeline within the central Syrian town of Homs, witnesses and activists say.
A sizable plume of smoke was seen rising in the pipeline, which runs near farmland around the fringe of the Baba Amr district - the prospective of bombardment by government forces for over a week.
Condition media blamed "armed terrorists", only one activist group stated government fighter jets had inflated the pipeline.
Activists also stated in latest breaking news security forces had begun shelling the encompassing town of Hama.
